About an hour or so later, we finally arrived back at Detachment 5 at Bien Hoa AB. We processed into the detachment, and eventually settled into this building, which is hootch number 85. We were the first two guys to move into the hut, but we were soon joined by other men as the U.S. war effort increased in size.
The hootches were divided into eight cubicles with four on each side. Our cubicle was at the far end, on the left side.
