Passenger Terminal, Bien Hoa Air Base
Being in the Air Force, I naturally didn't go with the army troops. Instead I was sent to the passenger terminal. That's the large building with four peaks in the picture. From there I was sent to my detachment where I thought I would give them my orders and sign in. That was when I found out that I had to go to Ton Son Nhut AB in Saigon to process into the country. That had to be done at the squadron level, not at the detachment level. Now why the U.S. Air Force, in their infinite wisdom, chose to send me to Bien Hoa, when I actually needed to go to Ton Son Nhut first, is beyond me. But, that's the military for you.
