Silver Pallet Service
In this photo you can see a number of aluminum pallets laid out on dunnage. Army trucks would arrive from Long Binh and the ammunition would be offloaded and placed onto these pallets. The ammunition was then tied down with chains or heavy nylon webbing.
The color of the aluminum pallets, together with the pride that we took in our work, led us to brag that on the east ramp we offered "Silver Pallet Service."
